It’s Always the Right Time

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6 NKJV)

This is an ancient protocol, something missing from our culture entirely — confessing the sin for one’s whole nation. The point is taking responsibility for your part and stop passing the buck. This is often used as manipulation in church meetings to whip up a little End Times fervor, but it’s purpose is to refresh something that never changes. We live in the Land of Penitence. It’s always a good time to sincerely contemplate the awful things we do against God’s moral character. However, with the recognition that this is a genuine time of tribulation, it’s all the more appropriate.
